| I think this is my favourite. It is quite a simple design but very sweet. This type of cutwork is known as Richelieu work. It is worked in white on a white linen material. Buttonhole stitch is used to outline the flowers and make the little bars that stretch across the open spaces. The centres of the flowers are padded to give the design a slightly three-dimensional appearance. A delicate machine lace has been added as a finishing touch. |
