 Antique Lace  (アンティークレース)

Antique lace is a fascinating subject that can be studied at many levels. Our initial aim on this website is to concentrate on the sort of lace that it is still possible to find in antique shops and markets, rather than just on museum pieces.

Pictures of all sorts of antique lace are being added to the Gallery of Lace and Linens. In the Costume Gallery you will also get a chance to see how lace was actually worn, on garments from various periods. In our Shop you can often see examples of antique lace and linens. Fun to look at, even if you don't buy them!

There will also be occasional articles about lace. The first article, about Lace Scarves, has already been added to the site. Below you will also see that there is a Fact File about one specific type of lace.

We hope that with the information and pictures on the site you will soon be able to identify all sorts of old laces. Do ask us any questions you might have.

Now go to our first Fact File which contains lots of information about a very popular type of lace.

If you visit England here is somewhere to go to view some stunning antique lace.
