club members recently asked us how lace is currently used in Britain.
This is an interesting question, which set me thinking about how
antiques are subject to the whims of fashion. I have been
selling lace for quite a while now and it seems to me that lace has come
in and out of fashion several times in these years. Over the hundreds of
years that lace has existed this has happened many more times of course. |
